A location must work beyond the frame
Cinema Service and Production helps find locations in Uzbekistan that fit the script, visual language and production requirements. An attractive photograph is not enough: the unit needs space, equipment access, suitable sound conditions and workable hours. We therefore connect research with the production brief. A historic street, contemporary interior and remote road require different checks. A reference is never treated as a confirmed location. First we assess its relevance to the scene, then investigate the actual conditions for access and preparation.
Describe the action, not only the look
Send references, a scene description, preferred areas and proposed dates. Explain what must be preserved: architectural period, light direction, road character, camera movement or the absence of modern details. The action, number of participants and equipment footprint matter just as much. Night work, background performers, vehicles or complex staging can change which sites are suitable. Identify acceptable substitutions early. That lets us explore several ways to achieve a scene instead of collecting visually similar photographs without understanding the production constraints behind them.
Research and the shortlist
We begin by discussing the possible environments: Tashkent, historic cities, mountain areas, desert roads, rural settings or industrial spaces. The Bayram-Film group location catalogue can support that initial conversation, but it does not confirm current access, pricing or availability. The brief defines research directions and questions for site owners. The format and scope of the shortlist are agreed in advance. For each candidate, known information should be separated from matters requiring a visit, an owner's response or a department-specific technical assessment.
Recces and technical questions
A recce considers a place in relation to the actual scene. We look at approaches, unloading, backgrounds, external noise, neighbouring activity and possible unit-base arrangements. Technical scouts may need the relevant department representatives: lighting, sound and camera movement should not be decided from general photographs alone. We also clarify when visual material was made, because season, repairs and city activity can change a location. The reporting format and depth of investigation follow the assignment rather than a claim that one standard checklist can cover every site.
From selection to the shooting day
Choosing a location is followed by agreement with its owner or the responsible authority. Working hours, crew size, planned action, technical restrictions and vehicle access must be discussed, then connected with setup and departure schedules. Approval for the overall project does not replace clearance for a particular site. Sensitive activities need separate checks. If the preferred option is unavailable, alternatives are considered against the scene's priorities. Before filming, the team should reconfirm the agreed conditions, receiving contact and any matters still outstanding.
Timing, costs and deliverables
Research time depends on how specific the brief is, the area covered, the number of alternatives and the travel required. An initial selection and a full technical scout are different assignments with different outputs. Travel, location hire, escorts, special approvals and site preparation are not automatically included in a research fee. We do not publish universal rates or deadlines without a brief. First we establish the decisions the producer needs to make, then agree stages and budget. The result should support a practical choice, not imply readiness from a single image.
Local coordination and group resources
Cinema Service handles service preparation and communication with locations. The company has no rental warehouse or studio of its own; technical equipment, film caravan and post-production can be discussed with Bayram-Film and group partners. The group's published portfolio includes local producing for Eterna (2024) and Lyubov Sovetskogo Soyuza (2023), and service support for Khuda Haafiz (2020). Service questions
Can we start with reference photographs only?
Yes, for an initial conversation. Assessing filming suitability also requires the scene's action, dates, crew size and technical requirements.
Are catalogue locations already cleared for filming?
No. The catalogue shows visual possibilities. Access, rates, dates and restrictions must be confirmed separately for the request and the site's owner.
How does a shortlist differ from a technical scout?
A shortlist helps choose a direction. A technical scout checks the selected site against department needs, equipment, logistics and shooting arrangements.
Do you scout outside Tashkent?
Yes, we consider locations throughout Uzbekistan. Visits, routes and travel costs depend on the agreed search area and depth of assessment.
Does a completed recce guarantee access?
No. A recce does not replace approval. Filming needs confirmed conditions from the site owner and any permissions required for the planned activity.
